I haven't been back since Harvey. I hope it will be just as nice if not better than it was. I have been going to Rockport for over 40 years. I went there as a kid and I took my kids there. God bless Rockport!
It was just 2 weeks before Hurricane Harvey, but at that time, it was amazing and beautiful! I would highly recommend it. We spent the majority of our anniversary trip at the beach park and it was our best anniversary yet!
By far the cleanest beach my family and me have gone too. Shallow clear water for what seems for several hundred yards. Want to cookout under their gazebos and use their grill or bring your own. Bring your canopy as well so you can have some shade on the beach side. Bring drinks for kiddos and adults as well. No glass bottles. My wife and I are wine drinkers so we used our 32oz yeti cups and problem solved. Theirs also a five dollar cover charge, but trust me it's worth every penny.
The beach is nice, the water is good. You can walk a long way out and still be only waist deep. Good for kids. It would be nice for the seaweed to be remove nightly. But other than that small bother it was fun and the people were all polite. Go early however as ut gets packed.
This was a great beach to relax with your family. It is clean, $5 to get in for the entire day (annual pass is $20) and shallow for a long ways out which is great for smaller children. The sand was very good both on shore and in the water (no shoes needed). We parked our car about 50 yards from where we set up our chairs on the beach. This is one of the better Texas beaches we have been to. We will come back!
