The Lighthouse Inn is a beautiful place where they provide everything you need to feel at home. My hotel room is just like an apartment with a bedroom, living room and full kitchen including dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans. My favorite part is that my patio faces the ocean and I can sit in a rocking chair and enjoy the amazing view.
Beautiful place, very peaceful. Had a great experience. Friendly staff, the Bartender was very nice and friendly so were the ladies assisting during the breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.
We could fish right there, from nearby docks, or get a charter. There were two bait shops and great food within walking distance. They'll cook what you catch or store it. The pool isn't extravagant, but it is a good place to cool off or lounge, and there are grills if you want to try your hand at some cooking. The buffet breakfast was as good as a La Quinta, Hampton, or Holiday Inn express, and you're right on the water. The room amenities were good as well, and there were several places to lounge inside or out.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. I would say the front desk was understaffed at check-in time though. There were a lot of guests waiting to check-in while the rooms weren't quite ready for everyone, which lead to some grumbles while we all waited. The room itself was somewhat dated and not quite what I would have expected for the price we paid. It was a nice size and I was able to accommodate my family. The pool and hot tub area were conveniently located. The included breakfast was good. The Texas shaped waffles are always a big hit with the kids. With that said, it seemed like I was either asking the staff for help with cleaning an unused table or refilling some of the various food items. I feel like the hotel was a bit understaffed, generally speaking. I got the feeling that it was an issue with the entire area. While shopping throughout our time in Rockport, I felt that a lot of the other restaurants and businesses we're understaffed.
Great location. Walk right out your door and fish. Friendly staff. Palm room restaurant at hotel is very good.
I gave a raving review last year (June 2016) that almost warranted 5 stars, and this year (June 2017) I am still giving 4 stars, but that is only because I can't give 3.5. So, the staff were still nice, but they were a bit too occupied with a conference to give outstanding service to all their guests. Matter of fact, they forgot to mention that the dinner dinning was closed to anyone, but conference attendees. I don't have issue with it being held for the conference, but they should have told us when we arrived. Also, they were painting last year and this year. I support maintenance, but I would think you would try and minimize it during heavy time of tourism, and I would not leave open buckets of paint in the hall that stink over night. Yes, that is more a contractor issue, but staff should check. The view is still great for the price, but the mosquitos and flies outside make me think that next year I'll save 20 percent at a hotel off the water that has newer amenities. That said, I have left key highlights from last year that are still helpful to know.
